Renise Johnson is currently the Head of Access Services/Systems Librarian at Morgan State University. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of the Virgin Islands, and holds an MLIS from the University of Pittsburg.

Along with Bryan Fuller, Johnson co-won a 2024 Carnegie-Whitney Grant for the project "Annotated Bibliography of Early Afro-Diasporic Authors, 1573-1865."
