    By undertaking this member survey ÂÜÀòÍøÊÓƵtakes a big step toward knowing itself and being able to describe itself to others. Access articles on the findings to date, locate the RFP for research studies, and take the survey.
  • Diversity Counts

    In October of 2006, the ÂÜÀòÍøÊÓƵ (ALA) released "Diversity Counts," a comprehensive study of gender, race and age in the library profession. The study was conducted by the ÂÜÀòÍøÊÓƵOffice for Research & Statistics, ÂÜÀòÍøÊÓƵOffice for Diversity, Literacy and Outreach Services, and Decision Demographics, a research firm based in Arlington, Virginia. and confirms the need for continued recruitment of people of color.
  • Serving Non-English Speakers in U.S. Public Libraries

    This study provides new information about library services and programs developed for non-English speakers, including the effectiveness of services, barriers to library use, most frequently used services and most success library programs by language served.
